Description

ILFORD ORTHO PLUS is an orthochromatic black and white film. Designed as a high-resolution copy film for negatives, ORTHO PLUS offers superb photographic potential thanks to its fine grain and sharpness.

Ideally suited for landscape photography, the blue and green sensitivity of this emulsion enables the film to be handled in deep red* safelight conditions making processing and inspection easier.

Its lack of red sensitivity also means that reds and oranges in your frame are rendered darker with stronger contrast than standard panchromatic films (all other ILFORD and Kentmere films are panchromatic)

• Orthochromatic Emulsion: Sensitive only to blue and green light, lacking red sensitivity. Reds and oranges render much darker and with higher contrast compared to standard panchromatic films.  
• Safelight Handling: Can be handled and processed under a deep red safelight (avoid amber safelights to prevent fogging).  
• Fine Grain & Sharpness: Originally engineered for high-resolution copy work, making it well-suited for smooth enlargements, landscapes, and detailed textures like foliage and rock formations.  
• Formats Available: Offered in 35mm (36 exposures, DX-coded for ISO 80), 120 medium format, and large format sheets.  
• Development: Compatible with standard black-and-white film developers.
